Harry Sprague is a license 200 Ton USCG Master. For the past 14 years, Harry has been operating sailing vessels around the Hawaiian Islands as Captain of the SSV Makani Olu, where he provided training on behalf of the Marimed Foundation. Prior to joining Marimed, Harry worked for the USMC Community Services division, retiring after 20 years as the Recreation Director responsible for lifeguards at beaches and pools. Having lived and sailed in Hawaii since 1982, Harry has tremendous knowledge of local waters, and enjoys teaching navigation skills and helping people interested in careers in the maritime industry. When he is not teaching, Harry lives on his sailboat and enjoys cruising around the islands.
