Proficiency in Survival Craft (Lifeboatman) Refresher (PSCR) – San Diego, CA

​Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSC) (Lifeboatman) Refresher is a two day course designed for mariners who previously held a STCW PSC (A-IV/2-1) endorsement and have NOT completed one (1) year of approved sea service within the last five (5) years.

Mariners successfully completing TRLMI’s Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSC)(Lifeboatman) Refresher course will satisfy the continued competency requirements of 46 CFR 12.613(b)(4) and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010, for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSC) and have performed all practical demonstration requirements, as guided by Navigation Vessel Inspection Circular (NVIC) 04-14.

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to take charge of the preparation, embarkation, launching, and recovery of survival craft and be able to manage a boat under oars, or motor and take charge of an inflatable life raft. The presentation will include but not be limited to:

  • Lifeboats
  • Survival Equipment
  • Launching and Recovery of Life Boats
  • Shipboard Davit Systems

TO RECEIVE THE ENDORSEMENT ON YOUR MMC FOR COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, THE CERTIFICATE(S) MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE USCG WITHIN ONE YEAR OF THE COURSE COMPLETION DATE.
