Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSC) (Lifeboatman) – San Diego, CA

Mariners successfully completing TRLMI’s Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat/Lifeboatman course will satisfy the Survival Craft training Requirements of section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code, as amended, and 46 CFR 12-10/3(a)(6) for endorsement as Lifeboatman AND the written and practical examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.10-5 FOR A Lifeboatman endorsement and the written “Survival Craft” examination requirements for service on vessels not equipped with lifeboats.

Upon completion of this course a student will be able to take charge of the preparation, embarkation, launching, and recovery of survival craft and be able to manage a boat under oars, or motor and take charge of an inflatable life raft. The presentation will include but not be limited to:

  • Survival Methods
  • Inflatable Liferafts
  • Lifeboats
  • Survival Equipment
  • Launching and Recovery of Life Boats
  • Shipboard Davit Systems
