Management of Electrical and Electronic Control Equipment (MEECE) – San Diego, CA

The objective of this course is to instruct the mariner in the areas relevant to Electrical and Electronic Control Equipment Management and provide theoretical knowledge to support the tasks, duties, and responsibilities in managing the operation of electrical and electronic control equipment; trouble shooting; and restoring electronic control equipment to operational status in the event of a malfunction.

Participants in this course will be able to effectively operate and control ships machinery in a safe manner; demonstrate the use of engine room instrumentation and controls; identify the need for proper preplanning, checklists and start-up procedures; identify and trouble-shoot common operational problems; and how to apply decision making skills and techniques that promote engine room safety.

Mariners successfully completing TRLMI’s Management of Electrical and Electronic Control Equipment (MEECE) course, will satisfy the Management of Electrical and Electronic Control Equipment requirements of 46 CFR 11.325(a)(3)(iii) and (b)(3); 46 CFR 11.327(a)(3)(iii) and (b)(3); 46 CFR 11.331(a)(3)(iii) and (b)(3); and 46 CFR 11.333(a)(3)(iii) and (b)(3).
