Mariners become familiar with lifesaving devices and crowd control plans, learn vital lifesaving muster procedures, and demonstrate the ability to assist passengers during an emergency.
This 8-hour course covers the minimum standard of competence for masters, officers, ratings, and other personnel responsible for the safe embarkation / debarkation of passengers in emergency situations as required by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) under 46 § CFR 11.1105. It includes training for both “RO-RO” and “other than RO-RO” passenger vessels. This course also covers the requirements of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code, paragraph 1 of Section A-V/2, paragraph 2 of Section A-V/3, and the safety training requirements of paragraph 2 of Section A-V/2, as amended 2010.
