Class Requirements:
You have up to 12 weeks to complete the online course starting on the date that TRLMI sends you your course log-in email. THERE ARE NO EXTENSIONS past this 12-week time frame.
IMPORTANT: You must meet the U.S. Coast Guard's requirements for the license, prior to enrolling in our course. Please visit the license requirements page for the USCG requirements for each of these licenses. You may qualify for both an OUPV and a Master Inland or Near Coastal license. Our staff can answer your questions about which level of license you are qualified for.
Please Note: Our school is located in California and our final exam testing locations are currently only in Alameda and San Diego, CA.
In addition to the course cost, the following additional items are REQUIRED for this online class:
- USCG Navigational Rules of the Road Book, International and Inland
- Maritime Institute's "Mariner's Guide to Rules of the Road" Training Aid
- Plotting Tools: We recommend Weems and Plath Roll Plotter #120, Ultralight Divider #176 and Triangle #101
We suggest that these items are purchased at the time of enrollment to allow you to adequately pre-study for the course.
These items are available from our shop or using the links at the bottom of this page and will be shipped with your course textbooks.
When you are finished with the online course you will take your proctored USCG Approved final exams at one of our approved locations. Our school is located in California and our final exam testing locations are currently only in Alameda and San Diego, CA. Upon successful completion of the final exams you will receive a course Certificate of Training that is valid for 1 year to be submitted to the USCG.
